Burglaries Continue in Galloway Township

Police arrested a 20-year-old following a theft at Smithville CVS last week.

The Galloway Township Police Department responded to 678 calls for service. Of those calls, 62 were emergency medical calls, 16 were fire calls, 10 were domestic violence calls and 19 were motor vehicle accidents. There were also nine reported burglaries, 24 total arrests were made and 44 tickets were issued.

The department has responded to residential burglaries on Upland Ave, White Pond Ct, Leeds Point Rd, Fourth Ave, Donegal La, and Arbutus Ave. A commercial burglary occurred on W. Jimmie Leeds Road. Vehicle burglaries occurred on Iroquois Drive.

* Holly Peace, 29, of Hamilton Township, was arrested by Ptl. Patrick Neal on Jan. 28 for shoplifting, two charges of CDS possession and possession of CDS paraphernalia. She was released on a summons.

* Dana M. LaFontaine, 31, of Manahawkin, was arrested by Ptl. Justin Butler on Jan. 28 for hindering apprehension.

* Richard V. O’Brien III, 37, of Galloway, was charged by Det. John Kelly on Jan. 28 with theft. He was released on a summons.

* Joseph J. Stansberry, 25, of Galloway, was arrested by Ptl. Rodney Calimer on Jan. 29 for burglary, receiving stolen property, criminal mischief, possession of burglar’s tools and credit card theft. He was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

* Mathew S. Meneely, 22, of Galloway, was arrested by Ptl. Justin Butler on Jan. 29 for possession of CDS and CDS paraphernalia. He was released on a summons.

* Laura M. Rowan, 33, of Galloway, was arrested by Ptl. Kerry Baerman on Jan. 30 for possession of CDS. She was released on a summons.

* Charles J. Simers, 20, of Galloway, was arrested by Det. Eric Hendrickson on Feb. 2 for robbery, theft and unlawful possession of a weapon after being apprehended by Det. Sgt. Frank Weir, following an incident at the Smithville CVS. He was lodged in the Atlantic County Justice Facility on $100K full bail.

* Phillip Meneely, 25, of Galloway, was arrested by Det. John Kelly on Feb. 2 for resisting arrest by fleeing. He was released on a summons.

* Christopher L. Rivera, 20, of Camden, was arrested by Ptl. Patrick Neal on Feb. 3 for possession of CDS and possession of CDS with intent to distribute. He was released on a summons.
