Driver Hospitalized Following Crash Near Parkway Service Area

The driver was traveling at extremely high speeds when the crash occurred just before midnight.

The driver of a black sedan was hospitalized following a high-speed crash on Jimmie Leeds Road near the Garden State Parkway service area just before midnight on Monday (Dec. 2).

Kishan Farar, 30, of Galloway Township was driving west at a high rate of speed on Jimmie Leeds Road near the Garden State Parkway when he struck Alan Edwards, 46, of Egg Harbor Township, who was also driving west on Jimmie Leeds Road, according to Galloway Township police.

After striking Edwards’ vehicle, a Ford Explorer, Farar went off the roadway to the left, police said. He then proceeded to strike two poles, an electrical box and a fence, according to police.

He was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Division for treatment and is still hospitalized.

Power was knocked out in the area for several hours as a result of the accident.

The speed limit on this road needs to be lowered. It has been next to impossible to do 45 MPH on this road ever since the township started overdeveloping along this road (1998-Present). That along with the simple fact that drivers need to slow down, regardless of what time of day it is.
