Galloway Police Help Apprehend Escaped Juveniles

Galloway Township Police K-9 Officer Mark D'Esposito and his partner, Vito, assisted in the apprehension of two of the five juveniles who escaped from Harborfields Juvenile Detention Center on Monday, Dec. 31, Police Chief Patrick Moran said Monday night.

According to Moran, Galloway Police were called in to assist Egg Harbor City Police in the investigation because the the juveniles who escaped entered Galloway Township on Monday night.

Galloway Police were called in around 6:30 p.m., and the search lasted about two hours, Moran said. Richard Stockton College of New Jersey Police were also involved in the search, Moran said.

According to a report on the Press of Atlantic City's website, four of the five juveniles who escaped have been apprehended, including one who was captured at an Egg Harbor City train station before the other four entered Galloway.

According to Moran, after Galloway Police were called to assist in the investigation, the four suspects returned to Egg Harbor City.

According to the Press, three of those suspects were captured at various locations in Egg Habor City. D'Esposito and Vito were responsible for the capture of two of those three suspects, Moran said.

One suspect remains at large, according to The Press. The suspect is described as a 5'9" black male wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, according to the Press.
