Galloway Police Respond to Accidents With Entrapment on Thursday

Two people trapped in their vehicles were transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Division with non-life threatening injuries.

Galloway Township Police responded to a pair of motor vehicle accidents on Thursday, police said in statements released Thursday night.

Each accident involved entrapment.

The first incident took place at 7:48 a.m. on South Cologne Avenue, south of Aloe Street. Steven Michael III, 22 of Egg Harbor City was driving a 1995 Toyota 4-Runner north on South Cologne Avenue when he lost control of his car due to the road being covered in slush and collided head-on with a 1997 Saturn SL driven by Jeffrey Edeston, 56, of Egg Harbor City.

The Pomona Fire Department, with the assistance of the Germania Fire Department, extricated Edeston from his car. Jeffrey was then transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Division for non-life threatening injuries.

The other accident took place at 1:06 p.m. on South Odessa Avenue, north of Deurer Avenue. Although there was a drizzle at the time of the accident, the reason was for the collision was unknown Thursday night.

Robert Earling, 74 of Hammonton was driving a 2003 GMC Sierra pick-up truck north on Odessa Ave just north of Duerer Street when he lost control of his truck and crossed the center line. It went off the road and collided with sevreral objects before coming to a stop.

Pomona Fire Department extracted Earling from his vehicle. He was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Division with non-life threatening injuries.
