Gas Station Attendant Hospitalized After Being Hit By Car

An attendant at USA Gas in Smithville was taken to the hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries Thursday night.

An attendant at USA Gas on Route 9 in Smithville was hospitalized Thursday night, Feb. 21, after being struck by a car in the gas station parking lot, according to Galloway Township Police.

Kyung Kim was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Division with serious but not life-threatening injuries, according to police.

Kim was struck by a 2005 Dodge Ram pickup truck being operated by Linda Miller, of Galloway Township, according to police. Kim was walking across the parking lot to assist customers and Miller was attempting to exit, police said.

Kim was treated on the scene by Galloway Township Ambulance Squad and AtlantiCare Medics before being taken to the hospital, police said.

Miller was issued a summons for careless driving. The gas station was closed for an hour while police investigated the scene, police said. The accident remains under investigation.
