Identities in Egg Harbor Township Murder-Suicide Revealed

Police found Andrew Breznitsky, 58, and Del McKenzie, 58, both of the 200 block of London Court in Egg Harbor Township, dead in their home on Saturday afternoon.

Two Egg Harbor Township men were found dead in their homes as the result of an apparent murder-suicide over the weekend, Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced on Tuesday.

Police found Andrew Breznitsky, 58, and Del McKenzie, 58, both of the 200 block of London Court in Egg Harbor Township, dead in their home on Saturday afternoon. Police responded to the scene after neighbors noted that mail had been piling up for days.

Breznitsky had gunshot wounds to the head. McKenzie had gunshot wounds to the chest. A small caliber semi-automatic handgun was recovered at the scene.

Next-of-kin were notified.

Autopsies performed by the New Jersey State Medical Examiner's Office on Sunday revealed both men died of fatal gunshot wounds, with the manner of death listed as a murder-suicide.

It was determined that McKenzie shot Breznitsky twice in the head before turning the gun on himself and firing two shots into his own chest.
