Man Hospitalized Following Three-Car Accident on Aloe Street and Cologne Avenue
William Bernhardt was also issued a summons for failure to yield.
One person was hospitalized with serious but not life threatening injuries following a three-car accident on Cologne Avenue and Aloe Street on Monday, Galloway Township Police said Monday afternoon.
Wilbert Bernhardt was also issued a summons for failure to yield after he drove his 2004 Chevy Suburban past a stop sign at Cologne Avenue and Aloe Street without stopping. He was travelling east on Aloe Street and collided with a Ford Pickup that was being driven north on Cologne Avenue by Robert Forshaw.
Bernhardt’s vehicle overturned and collided with a Ford Taurus that travelling west on Cologne Avenue. Tyrone Hawthorne was driving the Taurus and did stop at the sign.

Bernhardt’s vehicle finally stopped on its side, up against a utility pole. He was extricated by the Pomona and Germania fire departments.
Bernhardt was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Division.

The road was closed and traffic was alternated for about an hour and a half, police said.
