Man Injured in South Genoa Avenue Fire Arrested for Arson

Arnoldo Lopez was arrested at the hospital after being treated for minor injuries.

Monday was a bad day for Arnoldo Lopez.

The man who was injured in a fire on South Genoa Avenue on Monday, Dec. 17 was arrested for arson in the same incident, Galloway Township Police said Thursday evening.

Lopez, 42, was assisted from the home that was on fire by a fellow labor worker and a passerby. The house employs workers for Caroline's Farms.

He was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Mainland Campus and treated for minor injuries, police said. An investigation by the police department resulted in Lopez being arrested at the hospital for aggravated arson, police said.

Bail was set at $75,000 cash. He is currently being held at a New Jersey Department of Corrections facility in Trenton, according to police.
