Moss Mill Road Reopened

The road was closed since Oct. 12 due to a sewer line break.

Moss Mill Road in Smithville, which has been closed since Oct. 12 due to a sewer line break, reopened Friday night, Galloway Township Police announced via nixle.

Initially, the township believed one of their sewer pipes broke, but investigators later learned that the pipe belonged to the Atlantic County Utilities Authority (ACUA), Mayor Don Purdy said Tuesday night.

Service throughout Smithville, including the Smithville School, Four Seasons and the Clubs area was affected. The pipe needed to be replaced and the road had to be repaved.
