Police Arrest Two After Armed Robbery and Chase

A Galloway Township police pursuit ends with two suspects crashing near the Garden State Parkway entrance at Pomona Road.

A 26-year-old Egg Harbor Township man called police just after midnight Friday to report being robbed at gunpoint near the Pizza Hut on the White Horse Pike in Galloway Township.

The alleged robbers fled in a 2005 black Acura westbound on the Pike, but the victim was able to follow them and provide information to dispatchers, according to a report from Galloway Township Police.

Officers Kevin Costa, Bill Kline, and Kyle Kuhar found the vehicle and tried to get the car to stop. The suspects led police on a brief pursuit. While attempting to enter the Garden State Parkway from Pomona Road, the
Acura crashed in the woods, according to the police.

The passenger, Juaquan S. Fitzgerald, 25, of Somerset, fled on foot into the woods. He was apprehended later in the morning in Port Republic. The driver, Chadwyn E. Norman, 25, of North Brunswick, was apprehended at the scene of the crash.

Neither man was injured as a result of the crash. A search warrant was executed on the vehicle and a large amount of marijuana was located, police said.

Both men are charged with armed robbery, eluding, possession of a controlled dangerous substance, and weapons offenses.

Bail was set at $200,000 cash for each suspect. They are being housed in the Atlantic County Jail.

The Richard Stockton College Police Department, Egg Harbor Township Police Department, Hamilton Township Police Department, Somers Point Police Department and New Jersey State Police assisted in the arrests.
