Police Make Arrests in Dunkin' Donuts Armed Robbery, Car Thefts

A 26-year-old Egg Harbor City man faces charges of armed robbery. A separate arrest was made in car burglaries.

A two-week investigation led by Galloway Township Police Det. Jason Kiamos led to the Wednesday (Oct. 23) arrest of Jonathan F. Ortiz, 26, of Egg Harbor City on charges of armed robbery and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes.

Ortiz is accused of entering the Dunkin Donuts store at 300 E. White Horse Pike about 10:12 a.m. Oct. 12 and handing store employees a note saying he had a gun and wanted money, according to Galloway Township police.

Store employees said he then brandished a large black knife before fleeing the store towards Waveland Avenue with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.
