Prosecutor's Office Probing Apparent Homicide in Linwood

A 47-year-old woman found fatally shot in her home

The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office has confirmed that a Linwood woman was fatally shot at her residence this morning.

Police discovered April Kauffman, 47, fatally shot in her home according to a press release from Atlantic County Prosecutor Ted Housel.

The crime scene is on 2 Woodstock Drive, between Shore Road and Wabash Avenue, two blocks away from Mainland Regional High School.

Linwood Police responded to a 9-1-1 call at approximately 11:30 a.m. after a worker discovered his client shot in her bedroom. The victim had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

No arrests have been made and the crime is under investigation by the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit and the Linwood Police.
