Two Arrested in Early Morning Burglary of Galloway Township Restaurant

A Hamilton Township man and a Somers Point woman were arrested in connection with a burglary at Wing It.

Galloway Township and worked together to apprehend a pair of suspects in an early morning burglary on Tuesday, Dec. 13, announced Wednesday evening.

Phillip Maddelin, 48, of Hamilton Township and Desiree Hill, 39, of Somers Point, were taken into custody in connection with a burglary that took place at 3:13 Tuesday morning at Wing It restaurant on Jimmie Leeds Road.

Galloway Township Police responded to the initial burglar alarm at that time to find the front door to the business had been forced open and cash had been taken. This was shortly after K-9 Officer Scott Winneberger had spotted a 2003 Hyundai Sonata in that area, prompting officers to begin a search for that vehicle.

At 3:21 a.m., Stockton College Police Officer Michael Meyers stopped a vehicle matching that description on Moss Mill Road. Following an investigation, both of the vehicle's occupants were arrested, police said.

Maddelin was charged with burglary, theft, criminal mischief and possession of burglar tools, police said. His bail was set at $50,000 cash.

Hill was charged with burglary and conspiracy. Her bail was set at $35,000 cash.

Both were transported to the Atlantic County Justice Facility, and police are continuing an investigation into numerous other business burglaries in the township and the surrounding areas, police said.
