Atlantic County Sheriff Frank X. Balles
noted he was happy to be able to provide jobs to new recruits at a critical time, specifically citing the closing of the Atlantic Club over the weekend.
“Our hearts are with those who have been forced out of work, by no fault of their own, due to the recent closing of the Atlantic Club," Balles said in a statement issued Tuesday afternoon. "I am thrilled to be able to replace the officers we have lost due to retirement and give these individuals a chance to begin a rewarding career in law enforcement."
None of the recruits were formerly employed at the Atlantic Club.
