Two Men Charged in Connection With Atlantic City Murder

A man from Pleasantville and a Mays Landing man have been charged with the murder of an Atlantic City man that took place in July.

A Mays Landing man and a man from Pleasantville have been charged with the July murder of an Atlantic City man, acting Atlantic County Prosecutor James P. McClain announced on Monday, Nov. 26.

Kahlil S. Blackwell, 20, of Mays Landing, and Demarice G. Bennett, 25, of Pleasantville have been charged with murder and conspiracy in connection with the murder of Sedrick Lindo, 25, of Atlantic City, McClain said. Lindo was fatally shot multiple times on a porch at Carver Hall Apartments on the 500 block of north South Carolina Avenue on July 29 of this year, McClain said.

Both men were already incarcerated on unrelated charges, McClain said. Bail for each defendant was set at $500,000 cash.

Two others, including a 16-year-old boy who surrendered on Oct. 4 to Atlantic City Police, were previously charged in connection with the murder. The 16-year-old was processed and lodged in Harborfields Juvenile Detention Facility in Egg Harbor City, according to McClain.

On Aug. 28, Joshua M. Cross, 25, of Mays Landing, was charged with murder and conspiracy, McClain said. Cross was already in the Atlantic County Justice Facility on unrelated charges, according to McClain.
