Galloway Man in Fair Condition Following Tuesday Night Accident

Two Galloway men, one 54 and one 17, were transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center.

A 54-year-old Galloway man is in fair condition following an accident Tuesday night, July 24 in which he was transported to the hospital with head injuries, an AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center representative said Wednesday morning.

The accident was a two-car crash on Pitney Road and Ridgewood Avenue.

Hernan E. Llerena-Carrion, 54, was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Trauma Center with a head injury, while a 17-year-old man was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Mainland Campus with a knee injury, police said.

According to police, Llerena-Carrion was driving a 1999 Honda Accord eastbound around 9:45 p.m. on Ridgewood Avenue and was preparing to make a left onto Pitney Road northbound. Llerena-Carrion entered into the lane being traveled by the 17-year-old, who was driving a 1997 Toyota 4 Runner southbound on Pitney Road and the two cars collided, police said.

Portions of the road were closed for an hour, police said. Charges are pending.
