Atlantic County Surrogate James Curcio Suspended Two Months Following DWI

Atlantic County Surrogate James Curcio has been suspended by the State Supreme Court effective Jan. 1 for driving while intoxicated and hosting a political fundraiser, nj.com reports.

Curcio’s suspension is without pay and is in effect for two months, according to the report.

He is suspended from his judicial duties, but not his administrative duties, and it is up to the Atlantic County Board of Chosen Freeholders to determine how much of his salary will be withheld, according to the report. He makes $92,000 annually.

Follow his second DWI guilty plea in two years, the court also ordered Curcio to enroll in a program to deal with his alcoholism.
