Galloway, Port Republic Democratic Parties Merge

Michael Suleiman will serve as President, while Bill Montag will serve as Vice President.

Tonight at its 2014 kickoff meeting, the Galloway Democratic Club unanimously voted to amend its by-laws to merge with the Port Republic Democrats.

“Democrats in Port Republic will finally have a place to call home,” said Democratic Club President Michael Suleiman. “We are excited to merge with the Port Democrats and grow our club membership.”

The highlight of the meeting was guest speaker Atlantic County Freeholder Colin Bell, who spoke about his proposed homeless veterans trust fund and the need for countywide tax assessment.

The 2014 Galloway Democratic Club officers are as follows:
* Michael Suleiman, President
* Bill Montag, Vice President
* Stephanie Sanchez, Recording Secretary
* Doug Browne, Corresponding Secretary
* Marco Barrios, Sergeant at Arms
* Meg Worthington & Sherri Parmenter, Trustees
* Doug Browne succeeded Suleiman as Municipal Chairman
