Galloway Tax Collector Resigns Effective June 28

Al Stanley has been a township employee for eight and a half years.

Current Galloway Township Tax Collector Al Stanley will resign from his position effective June 28, according to a resignation letter addressed to Township Manager Arch Liston and Chief Financial Officer Marilyn Dolcy and obtained by Galloway Patch Monday morning, June 11.

The letter is one line long and reads, “Please accept my letter of resignation from the Township of Galloway effective June 28th, 2012.”

No reason was given for the resignation, and Stanley wasn’t available for comment.

Stanley has been an employee of Galloway Township since January of 2004, and his salary is $81,196 a year.

The current Deputy Tax Collector is Joan Truman. According to Liston, the township currently has two employees who are certified and can serve as Tax Collector until a new collector is hired.

It is still to be determined when an advertisement for the position will be posted, and he didn't know what the salary range may be when it is posted.

Stanley is the latest prominent Galloway employee to leave their position in Galloway Township, joining two former Township Managers, a former clerk and a Former Chief Financial Officer since January of 2011.
