Mayor Concerned About Opening of Substance Abuse Recovery Center

Mayor Don Purdy told The Press of Atlantic City that a new substance abuse recovery facility on Jimmie Leeds Road concerns him because the township wasn't notified before its opening.

Galloway Mayor Don Purdy is concerned about the opening of at least one substance abuse recovery facility in Galloway Township, The Press of Atlantic City reports.

Two centers have recently opened in the township, on Adessa Avenue and on Jimmie Leeds Road. It is the opening of Addiction Treatment Services International that has Purdy concerned because the township wasn't notified prior to the opening, according to the report.

Does Galloway really need THREE treatment centers?

They need to build a sexual addiction treatment center for former shamed mayors.

These treatment centers aren't the problem. The problem is having a police department that turns a blind eye on drug dealing and trafficking that is openly occurring and plaguing the township. Purdy and tow pulled this game with the parole office on Route 30. Clearly shows how much he pays attention to what occurs in his own town.

Treatment Centers are big business these days. Insurance companies are charged thousands of dollars, and Galloway is probably scrambling to come up with revenue. Some of the folks are sent there by the court systems and don't really want to be there. It does help those who want help, and that is important. But agreed, it would be best to tack current drug/crime problems at the source. If folks don't have access to street drugs then, we certainly would not need three treatment centers. And of course citizens would see dramatic increase in violence and crime. I simply can't understand why such a small known area can not be contained/controlled by law enforcement. And so close to a High School? There should be cops around all the time, eventually the drug element would look to settle down elsewhere.
