"I am honored to serve the members of the Galloway Democratic Club in my new role as Municipal Chair," Suleiman said. "I hope to forge a great relationship with the club and the Atlantic County Democratic Committee."

Three seats on Galloway Township Council are open. Incumbent Democratic Councilman Jim Gorman is running for re-election. He is also the outgoing municipal chair.

Galloway Democratic Club President Kevin Krumaker and Jim McElwee will challenge for the two other seats.

Mayor Keith Hartman, Incumbent Councilman Tony Coppola and Brian Tyrrell are running on the Republican slate.

"I've learned a lot in the past couple of months," said Suleiman, who graduated from Rutgers University magna cum laude in 2011. "I graduated in June, and even though Galloway is no longer in his district, Senator Whelan has been a great mentor for me."

Suleiman sees going door-to-door and making phone calls as the key to success for the Democrats in this year's elections.

"It's old fashioned politics," Suleiman said. "In the end, we're not going to say we were outworked by the Republicans."

Suleiman said the Democrats recognize the importance of bringing jobs to the township, as well as attracting new businesses to the township and expanding on the ones already in Galloway.

They also recognize the environment and the township's relationship with the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey as important issues.

"Our three candidates are looking out for Galloway," Suleiman said.

"I think Democrats are going to win big in Galloway this November. People understand that the Republicans' is distracting us from the work that needs to be done in Galloway."
