UPDATED: Portion of Jimmie Leeds Road to be Closed on Friday
A continuous 24-hour road closure will follow next week.
Jimmie Leeds Road will be closed in both directions between Sixth and Eighth avenues on Friday, Dec. 9 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. due to an Atlantic County road improvement project, Atlantic County announced on Thursday night, Dec. 8. Drivers are advised to follow the posted detour.
This closure will be followed by a continuous 24-hour road closure from Monday, Dec. 12-Friday, Dec. 16. That closure will expand to include the area between Fourth Avenue and Eighth Avenue, the county said.
At that time, traffic will be redirected to Ridgewood Avenue, and limited access will be available for local traffic within the project limits. The county is advising drivers to plan accordingly, allow for extra travel time or seek an alternate route.
