Public Hearing for Skate Park to be Held Tonight

Proposed fines of $250 and a $65 processing fee were announced at the last council meeting.

A public hearing will be held concerning the Skate Park when Galloway Township Council meets tonight, July 10, 6:30 at the municipal complex.

Proposed fines of $250, plus a $65 processing fee for those who violate the rules of the skate park were introduced at the June 26 council meeting. Initially, Township Manager Arch Liston proposed a $500 fine and a $75 processing fee, but members of council felt those prices were too steep for parents in this economy.

The proposed fines were introduced after the skate park was closed in early June because of a continued disregard for the park's rules. It reopened June 14 with some guidelines.
