Tuesday's Council Meeting Canceled

Neither the mayor or deputy mayor would be able to attend.

The meeting scheduled for Tuesday night, Jan. 10 has been canceled, Mayor Don Purdy said Sunday afternoon, Jan. 8.

Coppola had previously stated he would be unable to attend Tuesday night's meeting. Coppola couldn't immediately be reached for comment on Sunday.

Purdy said the meeting could go on without the mayor or deputy mayor, but he chose to cancel this meeting because there was nothing "life-threatening" to be discussed this week. There will be no special meeting held in its place. The next meeting is scheduled for Jan. 24.

According to the agenda released on Friday, Jan. 7, the council was scheduled to have a discussion on the 2012 budget and an ordinance concerning an increase in sewer service rates.
