Absegami Football Gets Season's First Win

David Hood and Tyler Bing each scored twice in the Braves' shutout win.

For the second week in a row, David Hood scored two touchdowns for the football team. This week, it was in a winning effort.

Absegami shut out Middle Township, 32-0, in Cape-Atlantic League action Friday night, Sept. 14. The Braves improved to 1-1 on the season.

Tyler Bing also scored twice in the victory for the Braves, and Bashir Davis scored in the route.

Hood scored twice for the Braves last week in a 37-29 loss to St. Joseph in a game they led at halftime.

Absegami, currently playing without starting quarterback Rashad Kinlaw due to an injury he suffered in the offseason, host Mainland next Friday, Sept. 21, 7 p.m.

BUENA REGIONAL 27, OCEAN CITY 12: The Red Raiders fell behind 21-0 at halftime and dropped to 0-2 on the season.

Frank Woolley was responsible for both of Ocean City’s scores, with 21 and 16-yard touchdown runs in the second half. The Red Raiders failed to convert either attempted two-point conversion, leaving them without a PAT for the season.

Ocean City was shut out by Cedar Creek last Friday. 

It will seek its first victory of the young season next when it travels to Bridgeton next Friday night, Sept. 21, 7 p.m.

HAMMONTON 41, OAKCREST 10: The Falcons’ touchdown came at the end of the game, as they fell to 0-2 for the season.

VINELAND 26, PLEASANTVILLE 22: Che’quan Hargrose scored twice for the Greyhounds, but it wasn’t enough to overcome three scores from Isaiah Spencer as the Greyhounds fell to 0-2.

ATLANTIC CITY 34, EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP 28: The Vikings overcame a 14-0 lead to score four consecutive touchdowns and go home with the win. Jarren McBride and Dayshawn Reynolds each scored twice for Atlantic City. Curtis Fitzpatrick scored twice for the Eagles.

WILDWOOD 42, RIVERSIDE 0: The Warriors are now 2-0 in West Jersey Football League competition after their lopsided shutout win Friday night. Wesley Hills rushed for four touchdowns in the victory.
