Absegami Football Team Improves to 4-2 With Win Over EHT

The Braves defeated Egg Harbor Township, 28-7.

The Absegami High School football team rebounded from a tough loss last week with a 28-7 win over Egg Harbor Township in Cape-Atlantic League action Friday night, Oct. 12.

Tyler Bing scored three of the Braves’ four touchdowns, including an 80-yard run in the third quarter after the Eagles posted their only score of the night.

Bing also scored on runs of 13 yards in the second quarter and 14 yards in the final stanza. He rushed for a total of 174 yards.

David Hood jumpstarted the scoring with a 13-yard run in the second quarter.  Hood rushed for 142 yards.

Quarterback Mike Dolan passed for 10 yards.

The Braves picked up the win one week after being shut out by rival Holy Spirit, 18-0. Absegami has a bye week next weekend, then hosts Hammonton on Oct. 26.

Absegami improved to 4-2. Egg Harbor Township fell to 2-3.

MILLVILLE 27, HOLY SPIRIT 20: The Thunderbolts shut out the Spartans in the second half after Holy Spirit held a 21-14 halftime lead.

Rob Ennis scored four touchdowns for Millville, including both of Millville’s scores in the second half. Ennis scored on runs of 3, 5, 13 and 31 yards.

Millville improved to 3-2. Holy Spirit fell to 2-3.

MAINLAND 27, OAKCREST 0: Fernando Mayers and Brett Edmunds each scored twice for the Mustangs, who kept the Falcons winless at 0-6. Mayers scored on a pair of 1-yard runs. Edmunds scored on a run of 24 yards and 1 yard. Mainland improved to 2-3.

CEDAR CREEK 53, PLEASANTVILLE 6: The Pirates remained undefeated behind four touchdowns from quarterback Damon Mitchell Jr.

Mitchell had a 3-yard touchdown pass to Nolan Seward and a 35-yard touchdown pass to Ahmir Mitchell. He ran for scores of 25 and 35 yards.

Cedar Creek improved to 5-0. Pleasantville fell to 0-5.

ATLANTIC CITY 36, BUENA 6: Jarren McBryde picked off a Braves pass and returned it for a touchdown. He also three a 14-yard strike to Demond Cottman for a score.

The Vikings improved to 4-1. Buena fell to 3-3.
