Atlantic Cape Golf Tournament Raises More Than $25,000 for Students

Proceeds from the Scramble "Fore" Golf Tournament benefit Atlantic Cape students and will be used for Foundation operations.

More than $25,000 was raised for Atlantic Cape Community College students during the 2011 Atlantic Cape Community College's Scramble "Fore" Scholarships Golf Tournament on Oct. 6.

The tournament, played at Cape May National Golf Club, drew 100 players.

Proceeds from the tournament benefit Atlantic Cape students, and will be used for Foundation operations.

The Foundation was established in 1978 as a 501(c)3 nonprofit charity. Its goal is to build financial support for the college's programs and services.

It has raised more than $2.5 million for scholarships and operations, and to enhance academic programs and the campus environment.

Annually, it provides almost $200,000 for institutional scholarships, grants and emergency help.

Foundation membership represents a number of active leaders in the community, and is drawn from local industry and small businesses.
