Budget Discussion Begins Tonight for Galloway School District

Check out the complete agenda for tonight's meeting.

The Galloway Township School District begins its discussion on the Fiscal Year 2013 budget tonight, according to the agenda posted for tonight's Board of Education meeting at the middle school, 7 p.m.

According to the agenda, the school district will call for a tax levy of $27,975,500 on its $59,794,948 budget.

Superintendent of Schools Annette Giuaquinto and Business Administrator Tim Kelley are set to present the preliminary budget, the first that Galloway voters will not vote on, unless the proposed budget exceeds the 2-percent cap. In that case, voters will go to the polls in November.

The Board of Education voted to move school board elections to November after the proposal was approved for all school districts in the state by Gov. Chris Christie earlier this year.

Five middle school band members who were selected to participate in the all-South Jersey Band Performance at Rowan University on March 4 will also be recognized at tonight's meeting.
