9th Annual Day of Service hosted by Richard Stockton College of NJ

The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey will host the 9th Annual Day of Service on Saturday, September 8, 2012, beginning at 8:30 a.m. in the Campus Center Event Room. “The event has become an annual tradition at Stockton as we prepare for the coming academic year,” President Herman J. Saatkamp said. “This is an excellent opportunity to make a difference in our community.

As an additional feature, students get to know one another and become acquainted with faculty and staff members.”The event has grown each year and the College is expecting more than 300 student volunteers to participate in projects benefitting over 25 community organizations.

Faculty, staff and members of the community are also invited to participate. Coordinator of Service Learning Daniel Fidalgo Tome said donations of needed materials were being sought for use in a variety of the service projects.  These items include crayons, markers, colored pencils, tape, glue, scissors, construction paper, plastic knives, plastic bags, pens, pencils and gardening gloves. To donate time or items, please email GetInvolved@Stockton.edu or servicelearning@stockton.edu or call 609-652-4256.
