Atlantic City Hotel & Lodging Association To Award 15 Hospitality/Culinary Scholarships

The Atlantic City Hotel and Lodging Association (ACHLA) Scholarship Foundation will award 15 Hospitality/Culinary Scholarships at its annual Scholarship Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, April 17, 2012. The event will take place in the Royal Swan Ballroom at the Tropicana Casino and Resort. Networking begins at 11:30 a.m. The luncheon starts at 12:15 p.m.

The Foundation will award these Scholarships to Students residing in Atlantic, Monmouth, Ocean, Camden  and Cape May counties, including Atlantic City, Avenel, Barnegat, Berlin, Egg Harbor City, Galloway, Margate, Mays Landing, and Rio Grande, N.J.

Recipients are students at Atlantic Cape Community College, the Atlantic County Institute of Technology, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, and Rutgers University. During the course of its history, the ACHLA Scholarship Foundation has awarded in excess of $275,000 to area students pursuing hospitality and culinary careers.

The keynote speaker for the event will be Robert E. Mulcahy, III, Vice Chairman of the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority. Nominated by Governor Chris Christie to the CRDA, Mulcahy was a key member on the CRDA Board that supported the creation of the Atlantic City Tourism District.
