Galloway's Devon Barber Earns College Academic Honors
The former Absegami field hockey player was named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll.
An Absegami High School graduate and former field hockey player has earned academic honors for her performance in the classroom and on the field.
Devon Barber, a senior and team co-captain on the Muhlenberg College field hockey team, was named to the Centennial Conference Academic Honor Roll, the college announced on Tuesday morning, Nov. 27.
In order to be named to the Academic Honor Roll, a student must be a sophomore or higher; a starter or key reserve on her team; and carry at least a 3.40 cumulative grade-point average (GPA), according to the college.

Barber is a neuroscience major and plays the left midfielder position. She started all 16 games this season. She finished her three-year career with five goals and one assist, including the game-winner in the Widener game this season, according to the college.
She was also named to the Centennial Conference Sportsmanship Team for her behavior on the field, the college said.

Muhlenberg finished the season with a 9-7 record, a four-game improvement over last season and more wins than the previous two years combined, according to the college.
The team's victory over eventual national runner-up Montclair State earned it votes in the national Division III field hockey poll for the first time in nine years, according to the college.
