Galloway Schools Will Be Closed on Wednesday

Galloway Township can expect 3 to 7 inches of snow and sub-zero wind chills.

The Galloway Township and Greater Egg Harbor Regional school district announced Wednesday morning that classes will be canceled today as the region wakes up to windswept snow and arctic cold.

All after-school activities and sports will be cancelled as well.

The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey will be closed on Wednesday.

The coastal region of southern New Jersey escaped the worst of the snowfall — with less than 5 inches accumulating over most of the region, while areas along the I-95 corridor saw more than a foot.

Forecasters had predicted 4 to 10 inches for Galloway Township.

A wind chill advisory will be in effect until 11 a.m. Wednesday.

The forecast calls for a high temperature of 16 degrees with wind chill values as low as -6. Northwest winds at 18 to 22 mph will continue through the day.
