Oakcrest Drama Club to Perform 'The Wizard of Oz'

The musical will be performed Nov. 17-19.

Let Oakcrest High School's Drama Club show you  Nov. 17-19. The cast will perform The Wizard of Oz at 7 p.m. Nov. 17 and 18. A matinee performance will be held at 2 p.m. Nov. 19, with a character brunch just prior to the show, director Kim Tunney said. Tickets are $8

The cast includes Andrea Bocanegra and Ciera Dattolo performing as Dorothy on alternating nights; Aaron Davis as the Scarecrow; John Berchtold as the Tin Man; Yu’seph Cornish as the Lion; Kerry Scannell and Jessica Coventree, as Glinda; Julianna Costantini and Lanise Ambrose as the Witch; Mark Perkins, the Wizard; Schuyler Devos, Uncle Henry; Molly Huber, Auntie Em; Nick Murphy, Prof. Marvel; Gabby Vllamor, mayor of Munchkinland; and Mchael Giovinco, doorman.

The ensemble consists of Shannon Adams, Gabrielle Johnson, Anna Kozlowski, Meredith Laubert, Mikaela Riley, Michael Warrener, Michael Black, Gabrielle Cruz, Shannon Donohue, Margaret Erickson, Samuel Pak, Kim Paxton, Ted Price, Amber Richardson, Tess Falcone-Heinz, Abbie Groff, Tom Forney, Allie Francz, Andy Nguyen and Tara Fresh.

"These young people are fantastic," school Principal Anthony Mongelluzzo told the Greater Egg Harbor Regional School Board of Education  at its meeting Monday night. "They provide as much dedication and enthusiasm as the athletes."
