Smithville School Celebrates Dr. Seuss' Birthday

The school's Read Across America event featured a number of activities based on the popular writer's books.

Chrissie McColl's son, John, shares a birthday with Dr. Seuss.

In fact, the second-grader was born on Dr. Seuss' 100th birthday. McColl turned 8 years old on Friday, March 2.

As a second-grader, McColl was not part of the Smtihville School kindergarten class' celebration of Read Across America Friday morning in the school's cafeteria. His mother and his sister, Mia, were on hand, however. It was actually Chrissie McColl's idea to bring this particular event to the Smithville School.
