Styles-Landgraf Resigning From Galloway BOE

Recently married Kathy Styles-Landgraf is moving to Ventnor, and thus will be unable to serve on the Galloway Board of Education.

Galloway Township Board of Education member Kathy Styles-Landgraf will be resigning from her post so she can live with her new husband in Ventnor, Galloway Township Board of Education President Ernest Huggard said Monday afternoon.

Galloway Patch wasn't immediately able to contact Styles-Landgraf for comment, but she will be accepting a plaque for her five years of service at the BOE meeting at the Galloway Township Middle School tonight, Huggard said.

Her resignation takes effect July 1.

Styles-Landgraf's seat is up for re-election next year, and in the meantime, the Board of Education will fill the post. It will be taking applications and conducting interviews, and will officially begin the process in the beginning of August, as there are no meetings scheduled for July.

"She's been great," Huggard said. "Her educational background has been an asset. She's provided insight on curriculum issues, and she's been at the forefront. She served on several committees, and was very active."

Styles-Landgraf teaches seventh- and eighth-grade social studies in Margate, but was born and raised in Galloway Township. Her mother, Kathy Styles, is a former Galloway  mayor, Huggard said.

Styles-Landgraf was married last summer, Huggard said. She remained in Galloway and served on the board until her son graduated from eighth grade this month.
