Whiz Kid’s Keys to Awesomeness:

Michael Deluca is the vice president of Student Council, which is in the midst of preparing its autism fundraiser, to be held after school on April 2 and 3.

“We’re making blue chocolate lollipops in the shape of puzzle pieces that say ‘autism’ on them,” Deluca said Monday night while attending the Galloway Township Board of Education meeting as the student representative. “We’re also working on our latest road cleanup on Wrangleboro Road.”

Deluca is also a student member of the Superintendent’s Advisory Team, which was assembled in preparation for the March 13 referendum vote, but will continue to meet to discuss important school issues.

As vice president, one of Deluca’s roles is to oversee pretzel sales, meaning he’s in charge of selecting students from council to sell pretzels.

He is also a pitcher and a first baseman on the school’s baseball team, and competes in track and field. He frequently bowls with his parents, recreationally, and said the highest score he ever bowled was 250.
