Egg Harbor Township's Katie Champion scored for the field hockey team in an overtime victory.

Janosz has six shutout wins this year. She made three saves in Rutgers’ 1-0 win over Southern Methodist on Sunday.

The lone goal in that win came from sophomore Erica Skroski, a Galloway Township native and Absegami High School graduate. Skroski’s goal came in the second minute of the game. It was her first goal of the season.

Wright had two goals in a 5-0 win over Georgetown on Saturday. A couple of Washington Township alums also scored, as senior Lisa Patrone opened up the scoring with her first goal of the season, and senior Laura Rose notched her fifth goal of the season, on a penalty stroke.

Sophomore Nicole Imbriaco, of Clark, also scored on a penalty stroke.

Wright was one of three players to score in the Scarlet Knights’ 4-3 overtime win over Monmouth. She leads the team with eight goals.

Freshman Rachel Yaney, of Bridgewater, had a pair of goals, including the game-winner in overtime, and now has four on the season.

Egg Harbor Township native Katie Champion found the back of the cage for the third time this season, as Rutgers needed every goal in the victory.

LAWRENCEVILLE NATIVE NETS FIRST GOAL: Lawrenceville native Thomas O’Rourke posted his first goal of the season in the Rutgers men’s soccer team’s 3-1 loss to Louisville on Saturday, according to scarletknights.com.

The sophomore found the back of the net on a header off a free kick by sophomore Mael Corboz in the 43rd minute. His goal temporarily tied the game before Louisville pulled away.

O’Rourke had an assist earlier this year. His totals match that of his freshman campaign, where he tallied one goal and one assist in 11 appearances.

The men’s soccer team is now 5-7-1 overall, and 2-3 in conference competition.
