Absegami Wrestling Team Claims Second at Arthur O. Marinelli Tournament

Two championships and appearances in two other finals weren’t enough to help the Absegami High School wrestling team win another tournament title this season.

One week after opening the season by taking home the Gator tournament crown, Absegami finished second at the Arthur O. Marinelli tournament, according to nj.com.

Chris Henchy captured the championship at 220 pounds, pinning West Deptford’s Mark Fishcer in four minutes, 32 seconds.

Roman Rudisill won the heavyweight title, claiming a 6-1 decision over Woodbridge’s Darius Boyer.

Chris D’Alfonso advanced to the 120-pound final, falling to Clearview’s Zach Firestone, 3-0.

In the 126-pound final, Yanni Patsaros suffered a pinfall loss to Clearview’s Mike Vanbrill in 1:58.

Clearview won the team title with 194.5 points by claiming five individual titles. Absegami collected 176.
