LPGA Players Have Full Schedule During ShopRite LPGA Classic Week

ShopRite LPGA Classic Week kicks off on Memorial Day, and in addition to the 54-hole, $1.5 million purse golf tournament, the LPGA looks to have a strong presence with several events throughout the area over the course of the week.

It all begins a week from today, May 31, when Morgan Pressel hosts an hour-long clinic at Atlantic City Country Club. The clinic is from 9 to 10 a.m., and is preceded by a complimentary breakfast. Following the clinic, spectators are invited to participate in a free outing with prizes and a BBQ lunch. The clinic is open to club members and VIP guests.

Four Pro-ams will be sponsored by Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City on Wednesday, June 1 and Thursday, June 2. The pro-ams will be held at the Seaview, Galloway National Golf Club and Atlantic City Country Club.

Three events follow on Friday, June 3, the first day of the tournament.

First, from noon to 2 p.m., spectators 21 and over are invited to sample Chateau St. Michelle wines on the golf course behind the 18th green. Chateau St. Michelle is Washington state’s oldest and most acclaimed winery. Samples will also be given out on Saturday, June 4 from noon to 4 p.m.

Also on Friday, Michelle Wie will be signing autographs at the Seaview at 3 p.m. Kia will be sponsoring this session. It will also be supplying its Sorento and Optima model cars for use as a shuttle for players and VIP’s throughout tournament week. The cars will be supplied by Enterprise.

On both Friday and Saturday, Blue Diamond Almonds will have an expo booth in the Spectator Village just inside the admissions gate throughout the day. Spectators are invited to stop by the booth and pick up a pedometer to track their steps for the duration of the tournament. They will also learn about the benefits of leading a healthy lifestyle.

Finally, on Saturday, June 4, South Jersey Industries will sponsor a junior golf show at the Seaview’s Driving Range. ShopRite will provide a healthy snack for all children, beginning at 1 p.m. LPGA stars will host the show from 2 to 3 p.m., and then children and chaperones will be admitted into the tournament free of charge.

The tournament takes place from Friday, June 3-Sunday, June 5.

The tournament will also offer the following free ticket promotions, in association with ShopRite:

• all spectators will be admitted free, Monday May 30-Thursday, June 2;
• children age 17-and-under will be admitted free when accompanied by a paying adult;
• ShopRite Price Plus Members will receive two tickets per day by showing a valid membership card at the admissions gate; and
• all military, police and fire personnel will be admitted free of charge with proper ID.
