Sports

free archery program

Edwin B. Forsythe NWR will offer a free archery program consisting of eight sessions, taught by refuge volunteer instructors that have been certified by both USA Archery and the National Field Archery Association (NFAA). Participants must be at least 8 years old and parents are encouraged to participate with their children. Classes will be held every Sunday from 1:00 to 3:00 pm starting October 14 and concluding on December 9. There will be no class on Thanksgiving weekend, November 25. Participants should plan to attend all 8 sessions, since each session will build new skills and strengthen skills already learned.

Participants, regardless of their archery experience, will be taught time-proven techniques, a foundation for a lifetime of archery enjoyment. Whether your interest is simply target shooting, someday competing in the Olympics or 3D style, or perhaps bowhunting, archery is a life skill the whole family can enjoy together.
