Five Absegami Wrestlers Advance Through Quarterfinals

The preliminary and quarterfinal rounds of the District 32 wrestling tournament were held on Friday night at Absegami High School.

According to the Press of Atlantic City, in the preliminary round, Absegami High School's 106-pound wrestler Douglas Sterling, 113-pound Chris Harvey and 145-pound Ibrahim Diomande were defeated while Absegami's 138-pound Frank Malloy, 160-pound Alvin Mears and 220-pound William Sanz won in the preliminaries.

In the quarterfinals, the Press reports, Absegami's 120-pound Brandon Goldberg, 138-pound Frank Malloy, 160-pound Alvin Mears, 182-pound David Blake, 195-pound John Carr and 220-pound William Sanz were defeated while 126-pound Mike Jiampetti, 132-pound John Willette, 152-pound Nate Ross, 170-pound Alex Gong and 285-pound Mike Ottaviano advanced into Saturday's action.
