Winter Weather Advisory Calls for Snow on Tuesday

Galloway Township is expected to see 2 to 4 inches before snow stops in the afternoon.

A fast-moving winter storm will arrive near dawn on Tuesday (Dec. 10) and leave 2 to 4 inches of snow in Galloway Township before moving on in the afternoon.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory in effect from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. for most of coastal New Jersey. Snowfall is expected to be heavier farther inland along the I-95 corridor.

The forecast predicets snow and minor icing with temperatures falling below freezing late on Tuesday and remaining there for a few days. The weather advisory warns of slippery roads and limited visibility.

NBC40 meteorologist Dan Skeldon calls for snow to start between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m., fall steadiest between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. and be done by 4 p.m.

The Tuesday high temperature in Galloway Township will be 37 degrees with a northwest wind at 13 to 16 mph. Wednesday's forecast calls for sunny skies and a high near 30 degrees with a west wind of 8 to 14 mph.

Galloway Township and Greater Egg Harbor Regional (Absegami) schools are closed on Tuesday.
