Public Hearing on Parkway Expansion Set for Dec. 5

A proposed project would add lanes in both directions on the Parkway in Galloway Township.

The New Jersey Turnpike Authority will hold a public hearing to solicit feedback on a proposed widening of the Garden State Parkway in Galloway Township.

The project includes the addition of a third lane of travel in each direction between mileposts 38 and 48 in Galloway Township, Egg Harbor Township and Port Republic.

The hearing is set for 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, at the Egg Harbor Township Community Center, 5045 English Creek Avenue, Egg Harbor Township.

Oral or written comments will be considered at the hearing, which will include a presentation by the Turnpike Authority at 6 p.m., followed by public comment.

Proposed work includes reconstructing the stormwater drainage system and widening and replacing bridges and culverts. The work is part of a larger road-widening project that has been moving south from Toms River.

Written comments also can be mailed to:
