Week in Galloway: Carnival Comes Thursday to Saturday

What you need to know about the week ahead.

To all you fellow lovers of summer, we offer the following sobering reminder: August start on Thursday. Where does the time go?

But one piece of good news: The weather looks as if it will cooperate with all things fun this week.

The forecast calls for high temperatures in the mid-80s for most of the week, and there should be plenty of sunshine to go around. The ocean water temperature was a comfortable 74 degrees on Sunday. It's been bouncing around all summer, but there's a good chance the warm water will stick around.

Here are some things to look for this week:

Summer Carnival: The annual summer carnival comes to the Municipal Complex on Jimmie Leeds Road 6 to 10 p.m. nightly on Thursday, Friday and Saturday (Aug. 1 to 3). The carnival includes rides, carnival games, popcorn, candy apples, cotton candy and more.

Thursday is Family Night featuring unlimited ride bracelets at discounted prices. Proceeds benefit Galloway Township Community Cares Program, Galloway Community Events and Galloway Police Explorers. Call (609) 652-8657 for more information.
