We are so pleased to be able to offer this event again this year. We have made a number of…Read More improvements so it should be even bigger and better than last year. (the second year of an event is so much easier to put together than the first!)
We are looking to have the proceeds go to local Galloway non-profits as well as a portion to fund our Galloway Twp Business Association scholarship which we started this year. If you are a local restaurant or caterer and want to participate - see the website www.GallowayBusiness.com and click on Taste of Galloway tab.

Perhaps this is an opportunity for some or all of these laid off employees to open other Patches…Read More throughout the neighborhood. A Pinelands Regional Patch could well-serve everyone from Eagleswood to Tuckerton and LEH on through to New Gretna. And numerous areas appear to be available throughout Atlantic County as well. Best of luck to all involved.

Squid, Our dream was always to have a house in Ocean City. On a Sunday night in September, sitting…Read More on the beach, looking out on the ocean, eating our dinner, alone on our little slice of heaven, I looked over at my wife, smiled, and said; "We did it. This is living."
Squid, You are right! There is nothing better!

Bayfest last weekend; OC Block party this weekend. Even Martin Mollusk said summer is right around…Read More the corner! It's official summer is coming, my favorite time of year!

Many dream of owning a home in Ocean City NJ, as they come down here year after year to visit…Read More friends or family or just rent a week. Those of us who are lucky enough to live here realize how special of a place Ocean City really is. When you drive over that bridge and smell the salt air, your troubles are left behind. I just love Ocean City and the lifestyle. I Seas the Day and enjoy my Ocean City friends along the way.

Galloway Guy February 7, 2013 at 09:33 pm
Fine with me. If they deliver only 3 days a week that will be sufficient. Are people really waiting…Read More at the mail box Monday through Saturday in anticipation? Probably in two years or so you'll see mail delivery on just Mon., Tues., and Wed. anyways.

KGG, your comments make no sense unless your only mission in life is to criticize township officials…Read More no matter what they do. The residents of Galloway currently have access to six post offices: Absecon, Cologne, Pomona, Port Republic, Oceanville and Leeds Point. They are apparently more convenient to the majority of residents than the one on Jimmy Leeds Rd. The Galloway office, not an official USPS office, but a convenience run by the township, was losing money It did not even have its own ZIP code, and deliveries were not made out of that office., The financial problem was made known to the residents well over a year ago, and they were told that if the office could not at least break even without a subsidy from the township, the office would close. Residents chose not to take their business there. Therefore the office closed. To close was a sensible decision by township officials, considering that our police force was cut back by many officers over the last few years due to declining revenues. What is more important: to fund a police officer or to pour another $70.000.00 of our tax money into a post office that even the residents didn't see fit to support? The Mayor and Council made a very responsible, and not a hasty decision on this matter. Perhaps you should find something else to complain about, and I'm sure that you will.

Michelle, they are absolutely delicious! Thanks for the recipe. Added some chopped walnuts to the…Read More batter(I add nuts to everything!) and put a few choc chips on top (of a few of the muffins) before sprinkling the crumb topping on--makes for a yummy dessert with the banana/choc combo. Also had to bake them about 24 minutes--so a bit longer than the 18. They will not last long in this house!

Thanks, I always seem to have a couple of over-ripe bananas left over. Also, if you don't have time…Read More immediately to use your over-ripe bananas, just peel them, put them in a small Ziploc bag, freeze them and when you're ready to bake, just defrost for an hour or so and use. They actually make the final product moister and a bit sweeter without adding extra sugar. I will try these though...they look delicous.
Grafix Avenger January 31, 2013 at 04:57 pm
Sounds yum. Will try.
As for banana bread, here is my all-time favorite recipe- it uses 6 bananas…Read More and is incredibly moist. We add a handful of slivered almonds and semi-sweet chocolate chips to the batter before baking.

The emplyees in this store are invariably friendly, polite, and efficient. They say…Read More "hello" and do it with a smile. Too often cashiers in stores barely acknowledge the fact that you are their customer because they are too busy chatting with other employees, talking on their phone etc. The people at this Wawa do none of that. Glad you had a celebration today and glad you are in Galloway. Best wishes for many more successful years.
Mick Harley November 16, 2012 at 10:05 am
@ Red, WOW......Do you comprehend what you read?? Where in my post did I say ANYTHING about the…Read More employees?? I didn't DUMP on anyone!! The inside and outside of the store the parking lot and the grounds around it are always dingy and dirty. I don't live or keep my place like that so I would not patronize a place that looks that way. As for the coffee, the food and everything that is sold there the quality and freshness is the same at all Wawa's. Oh by the way the Wawa on New Jersey Ave & Mill Rd. in Absecon is just as dirty and dingy as the one in Smithville. Have a great day............LOL ;) ;)

Great tips everyone! I like the MRE-inspired meal idea (esp. since my friend who is an RD in the…Read More Navy told me he's driving case loads of them up from the VA Hospital in VA this weekend! I hope those who are in need have found food - hot and non-perishables. I know there are many resources in our community - we are all helping each other out. I know another storm is on its way and hope that we sustain minimal added damage at this time!
